WHAT IS A FAMILY LAWYER?

Domestic violence, child custody, guardianship, abortion cases, adoption cases, divorces as ell as
number of family matters which are being brought into the court on daily basis, have been provided
with a separate category entitles as Family Law cases. However, the field of law has always been
modified and advanced itself into multiple branches and sub fields. Most of the sub fields are chosen
and opted by the lawyers to perform their specialization in, so that they may be restricted to deal
with specific category of cases only, and not considered as general lawyers who have the capability
of dealing with all types of cases.
Thus, a Family lawyer is also one of such kinds of lawyers, who are solely responsible for dealing
with different family matters mentioned above. Along with dealing with such cases of adoption,
custody, violence, divorce and other family-oriented concerns and matters.
Even though, the primary responsibility of a family lawyer is to deal with the cases of divorce and
separation matters, and hold of custody of the children by their parents, a Family lawyer has also
specialized in dealing with multiple other activities and cases, like he has the abilities and
authorities to prepare legal documentations, present these documents in front of the courts,
not necessarily family courts, but in Federal courts as well. Moreover, Family lawyers can easily
draft and prepare different types of courts petitions, and property ownership or agreement papers.
However, there are several other cases which are usually dealt by Family lawyers including some
of the following:
Emancipation: this is a type of legal case in which court processing occurs, in order to provide legal
rights and basic facilities to the children in case of divorce or separation of parents.
Prenuptial agreement: in this type of cases, an agreement has been prepared with the consent of
both man and woman and based on the clauses and factors of this agreement, both parties withdraw
themselves from the custody or ownership of each other’s property, in case of divorce or death of
one of them.
